A great way to learn about all of Colorado–produced wines, from to Front Range to the Western Slope, is to attend Palisade’s annual Colorado Mountain Winefest, held the third weekend of September in Riverbend Park. The event features wine and food pairing events, chef demos, grape stomps, winery tours, chocolate tastings, and – of course – wine tastings. This year’s 20th anniversary celebration runs Sept. 15-18; more info is available at coloradowinefest.com.
But you don’t have to wait until the end of summer to appreciate what Colorado’s wine country has to offer.
