“We lost the field position battle because we didn’t get first downs,” Casebier said. “Pueblo West is a playoff team and they played like it. I believe they played harder in the fourth quarter than we did. I am sure they wanted to beat us after losing to us the last two years.”
On Saturday, the 4-1 Indians will travel to Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo. to take on the 2-2 Mustangs at 1 p.m.
Casebier said better play from the offensive line will be key to grabbing a victory against the non-league opponent.
“We need to run the football the way we always have at Montrose and we will be fine,” he said. “Our defense will have to find a way to get the powerful run game of Ponderosa’s off the field.”
