ILLEGAL DUMPING: A citation was issued to a resident for unlawful littering on Nov. 21. The resident had been putting trash in a dumpster he or she wasn’t authorized to use.
HAND INJURY: An officer assisted the Ridgway Ambulance crew on Nov. 28 with a person who had sustained a lacerated finger. The victim was transported to Montrose Memorial Hospital.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer was called out to a location on Highway 550 on Nov. 30 on a report of a man who was trying to trade work for food. The man left the area before the officer arrived. …An officer took a report on Dec. 2 from a resident who was followed from Ridgway to Ouray and then from Ouray to Colona. No other information was given.
FOUND PROPERTY: A pink purse with hearts on it was left at a local business on Dec. 3. It was turned into the marshal’s office.
MONTROSE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
CIVIL STANDBY: A deputy took a call for a civil stand by at a residence on David Road on Dec. 3. The citizen did not call back and the stand by was not accomplished.
ON THE ROAD: A driver reported on Dec. 3 an intoxicated driver on Highway 50. The vehicle was contacted by a deputy and it was determined that the driver was not intoxicated. …A 29-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and weaving on Oak Grove Road. …A 48-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 5 for DUI, failing to signal, no license plates, and an open container. …A juvenile was cited and released on Dec. 7 for DUI, no driver’s license, underage consumption of alcohol, and weaving on Highway 348.
911 HANG UP: A deputy responded to a residence on Bostwick Park Road on Dec. 4 on a 911 hang up. It was determined that there had been a medical emergency but it had since been resolved.
BURGLARY: Deputies responded to a residence on a reported trespassing on Dec. 4. A 39-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence and second-degree burglary.
WEAPONS: A deputy assisted the Colorado State Patrol with an accident on Oak Grove Road on Dec. 5. One man involved in the accident fled the scene. Police later arrested a 26-year-old man for possession of a weapon by a previous offender and prohibited use of a weapon. …A deputy responded to a residence on Highway 50 on a 911 hang up. After investigating the scene, a 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of a weapon by a previous offender and prohibited use of a weapon.
DRUGS: A 22-year-old man was contacted in Naturita and cited on Dec. 5 for possession of marijuana (more than one ounce but less than eight ounces) and distribution/manufacturing/dispensing/sale of marijuana or marijuana concentrate.
FIGHT: A deputy responded to a home in Naturita on Dec. 6 for a “family fight.”
UNDERAGE DRINKING: After responding to a disturbance at a residence on Dec. 5, a 19-year-old woman was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol. An 18-year-old woman was also arrested for consumption as well as obstructing an officer.
DOG PROBLEM: A deputy responded to a residence on Dec. 7 on a vicious dog complaint. A 46-year-old man was cited for a dog at large and vicious dog.
