Bootdoctors owners Penelope and Bob Gleason have entered into an agreement to purchase Paragon Ski and Sports. The merger of two locally owned Telluride specialty sports stores will enable Bootdoctors, whose store is in Mountain Village, to provide better service to its customers who are based in Telluride.

At the same time, the Gleasons said this week, they are committed to Paragon’s loyal customer base.

“This is a merger of two valued local institutions,” Penelope Gleason explained. “We honor and respect the long history of service Paragon has to our community and we plan to build on it.”

Paragon Sports has been operating in Telluride since 1983. Bootdoctors is celebrating its 25th year in business, having started in Taos. The Mountain Village store opened in 1998.
