The first annual Ridgway River Festival is in the works. This celebration of our watershed will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Rollans Park in Ridgway from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will include activities such as a whitewater rodeo and float race. There will be music and food, a regional watershed information tent, and activities for children to enjoy. We are actively seeking volunteers, sponsors and gear donations for this event. All donations are tax-deductible.
The River Festival will be presented by the Mosaic Community Project, a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to operate with dedication to support and promote education, the visual and performing arts, sustainable living practices, and environmental awareness in Ouray County, Colorado.
Funds raised by MCP will be shared with the community in a variety of ways. Examples of future projects are electronics recycling, wild area cleanups, Ridgway Community Garden collaboration, planting trees, hosting artists and musicians, offering sustainability workshops, supporting public works of art, and organizing the Ridgway River Festival.
MCP is a volunteer-based organization without paid employees. Volunteers are our livelihood and are needed for help with fundraising and community projects. As a working board, we are always looking for energetic members. If you want to get involved please contact a board member or email email@example.com.
Look for the MCP table at the ROCC Parking Lot Sale on May 17. We will be selling beautiful planted flower and herb containers.
