TELLURIDE – American National Bank has named Tom Kennedy as branch president of the Telluride and Mountain Village locations. Kennedy brings over 25 years of banking experience to the position, and will oversee all banking and lending operations in the two branches. He joined American National Bank in 2003 as a commercial banker, and his diverse banking experience includes credit administration, branch management and lending.

His leadership skills, relaxed and friendly nature, and extensive knowledge are a great combination for our team of bankers and the service we deliver to our customers,” stated David Wright, market president of the San Juan Range.

A fourth generation banker, Kennedy grew up in Iowa, where his family owns and operates a local bank. He began his banking career there as a teller, and after earning a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of South Dakota, became a bank examiner for the State of Wyoming. His experience includes positions with banks in Iowa, Denver, Breckenridge, Ridgway, and Telluride. Having worked in the area for 15 years, Kennedy has built valuable knowledge to help advise both local and out-of-town clients about the local market.

A resident of Mountain Village, Kennedy also applies his financial expertise by serving in various community positions such as his past position as a board member of the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association. He tutors for the community’s One to One Mentoring program, and serves as a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
