Considering that egg decorating is an ancient and traditional art, young artists will be invited to test their own skills at egg decorating. Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with both egg and cookie decorating (all materials provided). Prizes will be awarded for best-decorated eggs. At noon, the Easter Bunny will hop by to meet the kids and participate in an egg spoon race and egg toss.
Other fun games are planned, including ‘Guess the Number of Jelly Beans.’ And while there won’t be an Easter egg hunt, there will be one hidden Goldend Egg. Whoever finds it will win a huge chocolate bunny. There also will be lots of additional prizes and plenty of fun.
“As Telluride’s community art center, we’re really excited to offer something for the kids to do right before Easter,” says marketing director, Jennifer Heflin Thompson. They will also be giving away gift certificates as a way to excite kids and parents about the school’s summer workshops for kids ages 4 – 14, which begin on June 16.
"The Easter Eggstravaganza is just one of many Family Days coming to the Ah Haa School in 2008,” says Program Director, Rachel Loomis Lee. “We want the kids to know that the Ah Haa School is a place they can come to have fun and make a mess!"
Join the Ah Haa School for their Easter Eggstravaganza for Kids, from 11 to 2 p.m. this Saturday. Cost is $5 per child (with parent). Space is limited. Please RSVP to 728-3386.
