A 22-year-old Texas truck driver who lost control of his large truck on Slick Rock Hill Thursday night was ejected and killed. San Miguel County Coroner Bob Dempsey is waiting for blood-test results. The driver's name was not released.

On Saturday afternoon, 58-year-old Cortez resident Donald Kuhlman, skiing with the Cortez Ski Club, collapsed in the Mountain Village parking lot at approximately 3:30 p.m. EMTs administered CPR, but Kuhlman was pronounced dead from natural causes at the Telluride Medical Center at 4:27 p.m. Kuhlman, a teacher at the Cortez High School, is survived by his wife, Joanne, and their two sons, who live in Colorado Springs. Ertel Funeral Home in Cortez (970-565-3468) is handling arrangements.
