Telluride's defensive line saw a change in its usual line up, with starting goalie Chris Neylan taking a break, putting second-string goalie Teddy Errico in command of the net.
Telluride jumped to an early 2-0 lead in game one, and the Pigs responded with back-and-forth offensive action. At the end of the second period, the score was 4-3 in favor of Telluride. Telluride sealed the deal with the team's fifth and final goal in the third period. Rick Hurwitz, Rory Cowie, Brian Beckham, Mark Reggianninni, and Mike Fenton all contributed goals for the Lizard Heads on Saturday night.
The next day, Telluride's Paul Koelliker tallied a hat trick, while Hurwitz landed two goals and Luke Fitzpatrick and Fenton discharged one each, leading the team to their eventual 7-2 blowout victory.
"It was nice to get two wins, especially any time you have a back-up goalie in the net," team manager Errico said after the weekend's games.
The Men's Lizard Heads team now boasts a 2-2-2 record; next games are yet to be scheduled.
