Organizers for the annual Fourth of July parade of veterans need a few good men and women. The American Legion Post No. 12 of Telluride is sponsoring the veterans' parade.

All veterans are asked to gather in front of the San Miguel County Courthouse in Telluride at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4. A vehicle will be provided for the "Walking Wounded," veterans who would like to be in the parade but not march the entire parade route.

New this year will be a corps of bagpipes and drummers from the Cortez American Legion. Unfortunately, Gen. (retired) Norman Schwarzkopf cannot be present this year to review the troops as he has in the past several years. In his stead will be retired Col. Vern Ebert, who graduated with Schwarzkopf from West Point in 1956.
