The Wilkinson Public Library hosts an Author Agent Conference the weekend of December 15-16.

Agents in attendance include Kristin Nelson, from Denver's Nelson Agency; Andy Whelchel, from the National Writers Literary Agency; Steve Sanner, of Rocky Mountain Productions, a Hollywood talent scout; and Bella Stander, a consultant and book publicist.

Each agents will give a talk on the evening of December 15, starting at 5 p.m. The titles of lectures include Who Needs an Agent Anyway?; How to Write the Quintessential Query; Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover (But Everybody Does); and The Script Is Finished, Now What to Do?

The agents will be available the following day, and authors and actors are encouraged to sign up for a 10 minute pitching slot after the talks with the agents of their choice.

Nelson specializes in romance and commercial fiction, but accepts literary fiction.

Whelchel accepts film, screenplays, literary and commercial fiction.

Sanner is looking for 10 ideas to take with him to Los Angeles, and will accept pitches for short films, documentaries, and full length features.
