Parade staging begins at 10:30 a.m. on Colorado between Davis and Aspen Streets. Anyone can enter the parade by arriving at the staging area before 11 a.m. on parade day. To be eligible for awards, participants must register by 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, and pick up parade entry number on Monday, July 4 before the parade begins. Registration forms are available at the Telluride Visitors Center, 630 W. Colorado Ave., the Telluride Historical Museum, 201 W. Gregory Ave., or can be downloaded from www.town.telluride.co.us.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in 13 categories, plus a plaque awarded for Best of Parade. Due to safety concerns for children, please do not throw candy or any gifts from your float.

Arrive early to avoid traffic/parking delays and long gondola lines. Park free in Mountain Village and ride the free gondola to Telluride, or park in Telluride at the Shandoka parking lot on Mahoney Drive or Carhenge on W. Pacific Street, and ride the free Galloping Goose transit buses into town.

New for 2005 is the KOTO Boom-Box Band. Anyone interested in participating in this instrument-free marching band should meet in front of Rainbow Preschool by 10:45 a.m. Bring your boom-box and be dressed for Fourth of July!
