The Colorado Avalanche Information Center and I want

to take this opportunity to thank the many local

people, organizations and businesses that made our

recent community fundraiser a success.

The Cornerhouse Grille was a great place to host our

local fundraiser, so special thanks go to Clay and his

hard working crew for providing the venue. Tor

Anderson of the Telluride Mountain Club, Nick

DiGiacomo and Susan Curtis all volunteered their time

and efforts and we couldn’t have had this event

without their help.

The list of donors to the fundraiser shows great

community support for our efforts and I hope we

haven’t forgotten to mention anyone’s name (this list

in no particular order):

Paragon Sports; Telluride Sports; Christy Sports; San

Juan Hut System; Cornerhouse Grille; Telluride

Outside; Tor Anderson Graphic Design; Becca Tudor;

Jagged Edge; Progressive Gaitways; Between the Covers

Bookstore; Chicks with Picks; Telluride Tire;

Telluride Mountain Film; Telluride HeliTrax; Black

Diamond; Telluride Snowmobile Adventures; Boot

Doctors; Telluride Bottleworks; Lynton Moore; Sue Hill

Jewelry; Studio G; Nick DiGiacomo; Screamin’ Doggies;

Peak Performance Therapy; Sunglass Hut; Dianne Pauls;

Elite Fitness and Massage; San Juan Outdoor School;

San Juan Field School; Telluride Fitness Center; Grace

Engbring; Mountain Boy Sledworks; The Pilates

Workshop; Camel’s Garden Hotel; Healing Elements

Massage Therapy; and Sharon Caplan of Telluride Yoga.

Mountain Trip Guiding Service, based out of Ophir,

deserves special recognition for their especially

generous gift of a guided trip to Alaska!

Additionally, Backcountry Experience, the outdoor

equipment store from Durango, went above and beyond

once again this year. They held a staffed raffle at

all three CAIC fundraisers in the region (Durango,

Ouray and Telluride), so a special thanks goes out to

them.

Finally, our appreciation goes out to all the

community members who came to the fundraiser – it was

a fun party!

Think snow and have a safe winter!

Sincerely,

– Mark Rikkers, Colorado Avalanche Information Center
