Dick Arnold Unveils Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Fruita

Telluride sculptor Richard Arnold will unveil a memorial Saturday during a celebration honoring Vietnam veterans at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Fruita, at 10 a.m. Arnold, a Vietnam veteran and local artist with studios at home and in the Stronghouse Studios, will present his three full-size bronze statues of a mother and a father welcoming home their son, in Marine dress, from Vietnam, titled “Welcome Home.” The ceremony takes place in Fruita, at the rest area, by the memorial. Arnold invites everyone to come out and honor our armed forces veterans and fallen soldiers. For more information, call Arnold at 970/729-0681.
