for your support and enthusiasm for theatre events that Telluride Repertory Theatre Company and I have produced, particularly over the past two years.
I have had the happy experience of working with Telluride Rep, other local arts organizations and town performers since 1993 as an invited guest director and producer. Two years ago, I took on the enjoyable challenge of working on staff for the Rep Board to organize and develop programs as the producing artistic director. However, the logistics of splitting my time between California and Telluride and my growing family in California, have necessitated me putting myself on hiatus with the Rep in my staff position as of September 15. By so doing, I also free up some of my time to focus on creative theatrical adventures and less on the administrative day-to-day tasks required for creating theatre. I hope to be invited back to direct Rep shows and other arts events for Telluride audiences on occasion. I plan to continue the Show and Tell Play-Reading Series, so while this letter is not goodbye, my role with the Rep will change.
The Rep will be left in the capable hands of the current board of directors to plan, find funding for and produce year-round theatre for the Town of Telluride. I trust that the Rep will continue to flourish with the support of the Telluride community.
Thank you again for all of the moral support, financial sponsorship and attendance at shows. Community theatre can be a welcome diversion, transformational and just plain fun. I am pleased to have supported the Rep and the community with my talents over the last 14 years and look forward to seeing you all at shows and around Telluride, less often but with some consistency, over the coming months and years.
Wishing you all the best.
