I’ve known Terry Tice since he and Susan opened a very spartan Toggery in 1972. You wouldn’t recognize the present store – Telluride Trapping and Toggery – from that early one, but you’d still recognize Terry. Some gray, a little more middle-aged in the middle, but the same kind of “doer” he’s always been – strong, smart, hard working, well informed, and absolutely devoted to helping make the Town of Telluride a visionary place.

As a longtime regional reporter I’ve watched Terry – in action. Three terms on town council, a KOTO DJ, P&Z, school board – and as they say, the list goes on. Right up to now with the Valley Floor Advisory Board and the Valley Floor Preservation Partners. He’s seen lots of changes but his values are still the same – quality over quantity, taking care to preserve the best of his community. Like volunteering for the Telluride Film Festival, Mountainfilm, the Jazz Celebration, the Rep, One to One, and more.

Of course, Terry does get pretty sentimental sometime, but that’s really OK.

Experience, versatility and vision make Terry a perfect choice for Telluride’s next Mayor. Take my advice and vote for Terry on Nov. 6.
