MOUNTAIN VILLAGE – The Heritage Parking Garage, located below Capella Telluride in Mountain Village and owned by the Town of Mountain Village, will open Thursday, Aug. 27 at 7 a.m. with pay-for-parking fees. Parking rates are set at $2 per hour for the first three hours. After the first three hours, that rate increases to $6 per hour up to a maximum charge of $30 for each 24-hour period with the rate structure reapplied cumulatively for successive 24-hour periods. The only acceptable form of payment is credit card. Signage in the parking garage will denote this fact and the rate structure. During the closure period, the town’s parking consultants will be on-site programming the parking system software.
The two-level Heritage Parking Garage was built in conjunction with the five-star hotel as part of the hotel developer’s required public benefit. The town will manage 116 parking spaces, most of which are located on the upper level, while the hotel operator will oversee 82 spaces with full valet service. From the garage, motorist may gain access to the Mountain Village Center via the stairs or elevator. To enter the garage, drivers will turn west, off Mountain Village Boulevard, across from the hotel.
During the Blizzard Sale event (Aug. 27-31), the Town of Mountain Village will offer free parking in the surface lots at North Village Center Parking and Village Pond Parking. No overnight parking is allowed in either of these lots. Free parking will also be available along upper Mountain Village Boulevard, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., above the Village Pond Parking lot and along the outbound lane. Free daytime parking will remain in effect for the Gondola Parking structure and Meadows Run Parking lot. Remember, fees will apply to motorists who park in Heritage Parking Garage beginning Aug. 27.
