TELLURIDE, July 17 - The annual Mountains to the Desert bike ride, a benefit for the Just For Kids Foundation, will take place Sept. 22. Several changes have been made to this year’s race format to encourage more riders to participate.

Riders can register for four different distances: Telluride to Moab, 133 miles; Telluride to LaSal, 101 miles; Norwood to Moab, 101 miles; and Norwood to LaSal, 69 miles. Rides leaving Telluride will start at 7 a.m., and those leaving Norwood will start at 8 a.m.

A shuttle will be provided between LaSal and Moab, but registration is limited to 52 riders. The total ride is limited to 150 participants, with plenty of spots open for the long haul, extreme distance bikers.
