Ouray’s Community Development Committee (CDC) thanks everyone who participated in the Ouray 2020 Town Meeting.

The phenomenal turnout (over 100 participants) as well as the high survey response rate (486 surveys returned) underscores the commitment of our community to keep Ouray an outstanding place to live and work well into the future. It was great to see long-term, new and seasonal residents, as well as representatives from the school, the board of county commissioners and just about every community and civic organization in town, our mayor and city administration. Thank you for helping us to begin this discussion.

Rest assured, we on the CDC will be working with Ouray citizens, community groups and the city to help ensure that Ouray lives up to the values that our community expressed in this survey. Please continue to participate by contacting us and by participating in discussions through our website: www.ouraycolorado.us.

Our next step is to present a formal report to the city council on July 16. Then, in September, the CDC will set about to create a long-term economic development strategy for Ouray. This will incorporate the opinions you have expressed. Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome your participation.

Regards,

– Ouray Community Development Committee (CDC): Janet Armstrong, Mike Baker, Eric Funk, Joyce Linn, Rick Noll, and Betty Wolf
