This topic was initiated at the April BRT during which the participants considered how to more effectively capitalize on the new Ouray economy, particularly serving groups and events and maximizing those opportunities for businesses and non-profits. They concluded that some of the procedures, systems and practices developed previously may not most effectively address current opportunities. Ideas were suggested for solutions, which will be recapped in this session.
As is true in many communities, the issue of how to implement ideas to become practical solutions, advanced through policy and resources decisions, is complex and the ideas often die from lack of sustained attention before becoming solutions. The June session is designed to discuss how we can implement new ideas into practice in order to capitalize on Ouray’s new economy. Based on the needs raised in this meeting, participants will be asked to provide suggestions to the BRT Committee about the type of expertise the group would like to have speakers present when the new series begins in August.
The Business Round Table serves as a community study group to advance the success of individual businesses and organizations and the economic health of the community. There will be no BRT in July.
The Ouray Community Development Committee (CDC) provides the BRT program and the City of Ouray sponsors the visiting speakers.
