Paulson taught college writing for over twenty years at California State University Los Angeles and now lives near Ouray where she teaches writing and creativity workshops. Her poems have been published in many literary magazines and her work is included in anthologies published by Houghton Mifflin Press and University of Texas Press. She has two published collections of poems, The Truth About Thunder (2001) and The Company of Trees (2004) as well as a CD of nature poetry, By Stone By Water.
Paulson’s work was nominated for 2007 and 2009 Pushcart Prizes.
On June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Venue Roscoe Fox in Ouray, Paulson will team up with Weehawken Creative Arts and Buckskin Booksellers to offer a reception and reading that is open to the public.
Paulson's daytime workshop titled “More: For the Joy of It – Reading and Writing Poetry” will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Ouray. The workshop is a session for both writers and readers of poetry or for anyone who would like to spend time reading and trying their hand at writing poetry. Spaces are still available in the workshop and registrations are being taken now at Weehawken Creative Arts with Ashley King at 970/318-0150.
