RIDGWAY – Arts Beat, A Progressive and Entertaining Dinner will take place in Ridgway on Friday, May 29, sponsored by the Ouray County Performing Arts Guild. This will be the third successive year for this very popular evening of gourmet food and entertainment.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Kiva of Chipeta Sun Lodge with appetizers catered by Secret Garden and a cash bar. There the group will be entertained by the lively and thought-provoking poetry of San Miguel County poet Art Goodtimes. He will read from his recent book, As If the World Really Mattered.

The main course follows at 7 p.m. at Drake’s Restaurant where diners will be offered a choice of a specially prepared beef, chicken or vegetarian entrée and treated to the excellent sounds of a jazz trio led by percussionist Ken Crombie, including John Tuttle and Don Allen.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. the group will move to the final venue of the evening, the Ridgway Library, where an assortment of desserts and coffee will be served. There the group will be able to view a show featuring the paintings of George Kernan as well as meet this fine area artist.

There are only a very limited number of seats available for this special event at $50 per person. To inquire about tickets, call 626-2970 or visit the OCPAG website, www.ocpag.org.
