A Tristate Careflight helicopter lands on the northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 50 at Banner Road shortly after 11 a.m. today to aid the rescue of a driver who was involved in a rollover accident.

At 10:50 reports of the rollover were dispatched and members of the Olathe Fire Department, Delta County Sheriff, Montrose County Sheriff and Colorado State Patrol responded to find a grey SUV lying on its side just off the road north of Olathe.

Tire tracks and debris on scene indicated the vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled. Within minutes of landing, the patient was loaded onto the helicopter and taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
