MONTROSE – Three residents have submitted applications for the vacant seat on the Montrose City Council, Montrose City Clerk Lisa DelPiccolo said on Tuesday.
David Romero dropped off his application Tuesday before the 6 p.m. deadline following applications previously submitted by Rae Frank and Doug Glaspell, all who reside in District 1. The district was represented by Thomas Smits who announced on July 5 he had moved out of his district and was ineligible.
The term in District 1 is for 12 consecutive months preceding the Aug. 6, regularly scheduled meeting where council members where the applications will be reviews. District 1 is the city's northwest territory beginning at Main Street.
DelPiccolo said meeting packets containing information about each candidate is available online at cityofmontrose.org.
