MONTROSE – Need to go to Montrose this week? Plan your trip to coincide with the Wednesday, Sept. 10 “Lunch and Learn” workshop in which Rhona Keckler, enterprise zone coordinator for Region 10, will talk about tax credits for businesses located in an officially designated Enterprise Zone.

Keckler will present information on tax incentives for investments, new employees and health insurance, as well as incentives available in areas designated as enhanced rural zones. The incentives are offered by the State of Colorado and are designed to promote business development in the region.

The Region 10 Rural Enterprise Zone includes all of Delta, Hinsdale, Montrose, and Ouray counties and most of Gunnison and San Miguel counties (not included are the towns of Telluride, Crested Butte, Mountain Village, and Mount Crested Butte). In addition, Delta, Ouray and Hinsdale counties qualify for enhanced enterprise zone tax credits.

The workshop takes place from noon to 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the Montrose Chamber of Commerce, Second Floor Conference Room, 1519 East Main St. Light refreshments will be served. The workshop is sponsored by the Colorado Workforce Center and Montrose Area Merchants Association. For further information and reservations call the Colorado Workforce Center, 970/249-7783.

Region 10 is a nonprofit alliance of government and business that has become the information clearinghouse for the businesses, communities and residents of Delta, Hinsdale, Ouray, Montrose, Gunnison, and San Miguel counties.
