I have read Mr. Steel's letter of Sept. 5 in reply to mine about raising taxes for restoring the Spur. I think Mr. Steel misinterpreted what I said as making a judgment on the road engineers’ conclusions about the condition of the spur. This is what I said in my letter “I would bet that the Spur would hold up well enough for another couple of years with some filling in of the potholes again next year.” This doesn't seem like substituting my judgment for that of the engineers.
