Hess, whose vehicle plummeted 700 feet off the fourth uphill turn on Norwood Hill at approximately 7:30 p.m., was rescued by emergency crews, and airlifted, unconscious and in critical condition, to Grand Junction, where she spent five days in ICU.
According to her daughter, Katherine, Hess left the ICU on Tuesday, Jan. 8
She is speaking, moving, eating (and sleeping), and expected to make a full recovery.
