She has released the single, Last Dollar Saloon. “‘Last Dollar Saloon’ is a song that I began writing while on the road with a band in Austin, Texas,” she recalls. “We were playing at Poodie Locke’s Hilltop Roadhouse, and when we got to the club, there was Poodie, wearing a Last Dollar Saloon T-shirt from Telluride! Poodie was Willie Nelson’s stage manager for quite a long time, so I talked to him for a bit, and he said he knew Catfish from Telluride, and that he loved the town.
“I decided then and there that it was just too cool, I had to write a song about it. Years later, I have finally recorded the song, and have now released it as the first single from the new album.”
Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Thoreson now lives in the Iowa Great Lakes area, but, she said, “Telluride is still part of the tapestry of my life. I think this song reflects that sentiment.”
