Mountain Village All Dressed Up for Jingle Jam This Weekend

MOUNTAIN VILLAGE – The annual Mountain Village Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place Friday, Dec. 14, at 5:15 p.m. in Mountain Village Heritage Plaza, with Santa and his Elves,  Christmas music, a Candy Cane Count, children’s crafts, and face painting, from 3:30-6 p.m. 

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

 

Free Ice Skating & Hot Chocolate – 12-8 p.m.

BootDoctors, operators of the Mountain Village Ice Rink, is giving the community an early holiday gift: free skating during Jingle Jam. For those without skates, rentals are available.  Telluride Truffle, from their new location in Mountain Village will be offering free hot chocolate.

Holiday Crafts for Kids (while supplies last) – 3:30-6 p.m.

As they wait to tell Santa what they want this year for Christmas, kids of all ages will have the opportunity to be creative as they decorate their very own Christmas tree ornament to add to the tree in Heritage Plaza. There will also be other crafts as well as face painting.

Holiday Music – 3:30-8 p.m.

The classic holiday songs, including “Jingle Bells,” “Joy to the World,” and “Silent Night,” will be heard throughout Mountain Village plazas.

Sitting with Santa – 3:30-6 p.m. 

Kids of all ages can say hello to Santa, tell him what they want for Christmas, and have a picture taken with him, too. 

Tree Lighting Ceremony – 5:15 p.m.

Santa will light up the Spruce tree in Heritage Plaza at 5:15 p.m. with the help of his elves and the kids. 

 

JINGLE JAM ALL-DAY SPECIALS 

* Alpenglow Beauty offers grab-bag discounts 10 percent to 40 percent off. Gift with purchase and discounts on booking treatments.  Hot chocolate and cookies will be available.

* Allred’s hosts roll-the-dice for discounted drinks in the bar.

*BootDoctors & Paragon Outdoors will offer an Open House at their newly remodeled store, lighting of the deer sculptures in courtyard, lighting of the Fashion Alley at dusk, Bingo drawings for discounts all day from 10-50 percent, storewide drawings for prizes at 4 and 6 p.m.,and delicious snacks and holiday beverages.

*Christy Sports offers grab-bag discounts from 10-50 percent; refreshments.

*Crazy Elk offers $3 pizza slices

* Diggity Dog has a new breakfast menu with free bacon or cheese on your custom-made breakfast sandwich.

* Heritage Apparel offers grab-bag discounts of 10-40 percent; hot cider and truffles.

* Little Bar offers special tapas and sushi (on the fourth floor of Lumiere).

* Mountain Lodge Telluride offers a walk-in rate of $99 for a junior suite.

* Mountain Standard Time Telluride offers grab-bag discounts of 10-40 percent, and a gift with purchase. Hot cider and cookies.

* Smak Bar will host an Ugly Sweater Party, 5-9 p.m. Anyone wearing an ugly sweater will receive a free drink, and Lunch for Four for the best ugly sweater.

* Swanky Buckle will offer grab-bag discounts of 10-40 percent and gift with purchase. Hot chocolate and cookies.

* The North Face will offer grab-bag discounts up to 40 percent off on all products in the store. 

* The Peaks Resort & Spa will be debuting a gigantic gingerbread House on Jingle Jam evening in the Great Room. Gingerbread decorating will be available for the kids; complimentary hot chocolate bar with gingerbread cookies; cash bar in the great room with $5 glass of house red and white wine from Casa Lapastolle; buy two entrées get one appetizer free in Palmyra Restaurant. The Resort Store will offer grab-bag discounts of 10-40 percent, and cookies. The Spa at the Peaks offers training, fitness and treatment discounts. 

* Telluride Coffee has drink specials.

* Telluride Naturals offers grab-bag discounts of 10-40 percent, and cookies.

* Telluride Sports Franz Klammer offers grab bag discounts up to 40 percent off, plus wild cards for free tunes and rentals. 

* Telluride Truffle will be offering free hot chocolates and French truffles, grab-bag discounts at the brand New Telluride Truffles store next to the ice skate rink.
