OURAY – This month’s Ouray Business Round Table will again focus on current economic factors and how to capitalize on these situations. Ridgway Town Administrator Greg Clifton will serve as the discussion facilitator at the round table on March 19, 8-10 a.m., in the San Juan Room of the Ouray Community Center. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided by the City of Ouray.

The March round table will allow opportunity for discussion on a variety of topics, with reports on questions raised at the February meeting about how transportation tax reports can be used to track jeeping activities; on changes to the Small Business Administration loan program; and on how a revolving loan fund can be established for the business community.

Other topics for the meeting include a report on the state and federal stimulus plans and how they may or my not affect Ouray County and the surrounding area. A comparison will be provided of the differences between communities that are proactive versus reactive in response to this challenging economic time. A facilitated round table discussion will focus on ideas and existing plans for how the entire community can work together to capitalize on this information.

The meeting will conclude with distribution of a calendar of upcoming local events, festivals, visiting groups, and signature races in preparation for the April Business Round Table.

The round tables are sponsored by the Ouray Community Development Committee, with participation by businesses, nonprofit organizations, government, and residents.

Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in Ouray Business Round Tables. Additional information is available from the BRT Committee: Susan Lander of the Ouray Gallery; Rick Noll, City of Ouray; and Joyce Linn, CDC Chair.
