About the latest additions: Three Girls & Their Buddy are a songwriter in-the-round set with Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Miller.
Works Progress Administration is a new Los Angees supergroup made up of Glenn Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Luke Bulla (Jerry Douglas Band), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Greg Leisz (Lucinda Williams, Bill Frisell), Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello & The Imposters), and Davey Faragher (Cracker, The Imposters). Good stuff. http://wpamusic.com/
Greensky Bluegrass: One of the fastest rising stars on the newgrass/jamgrass scene. Since winning the Telluride band contest in 2006, the Michigan quartet has added a fifth member: longtime Durango-based dobro player Anders Beck.
Lovell Sisters – Three sisters from Georgia (ages 17 to 22) who are great pickers, great singers and full of youthful sass. Rebecca Lovell (mandolin) was the first woman to win any of the Merlefest instrument contests. Check 'em out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqE0O6IGDL0
In addition, we just confirmed that Elvis Costello's band, The Sugarcanes, will be totally all-star: Jerry Douglas (dobro), Jim Lauderdale (guitar/vox), Mike Compton (mandolin), Stuart Duncan (fiddle, banjo), Dennis Crouch (bass), Jeff Taylor (accordion). That's a bluegrass lineup rivalled only by our own Telluride House Band!
