EcoAction Partners partnered to host a breakfast roundtable discussion on August 27 to discuss the potential of collaborating to support the green building industry in the San Miguel / Ouray County region. EcoAction Partners is currently

exploring ways to continue to provide Green Building education and

services to the community, without the ENERGY STAR New Homes grant

funding that we previously received through the previous Governor’s

Energy Office. The Colorado Green Building Guild is a non-profit

trade organization representing a wide range of green building

professionals and leaders. The Guild has supported the industry in

other parts of the state including providing education, networking

across industry groups, small business development support (such as

marketing and promotion and business development), access to CE credit

trainings and more.

Many thanks to all who spent time with us last Monday morning and

provided valuable insights regarding the current needs and challenges

of the green building industry in the region. The meeting was

well-attended with participation from across the industry, including

building officials, architects, engineers, contractors, a product

supplier and a realtor. EcoAction Partners continues to invite input

from the community as to what is needed here to promote and improve

green, efficient buildings including additions, retrofits and

remodels. We feel that having a local, organized pro-active network

of Green Builders will be a great opportunity for local businesses in

the industry! We are open to hearing all thoughts and input from our

Green Building community. If you are interested in learning more or

being a part of future discussions, please contact Kim Wheels at
