SAN MIGUEL COUNTY – Two of the three Norwood juveniles involved in an alleged sexual assault on a 13-year-old Norwood seventh grade student at the State Wrestling Tournament last February pleaded guilty Tuesday in Denver to third-degree assault, which is a misdemeanor.
According to Denver District Attorney’s Office Communications Director Lynn Kimbrough, as part of the guilt plea agreement, the other counts of kidnapping, sexual assault and false imprisonment were dismissed.
The two boys, ages 16 and 17, will return to court on separate dates in September for sentencing.
Kimbrough said there has not been a disposition yet for the third juvenile, who is 15 years old, as his case is still pending.
The three juveniles were arrested in April in Denver, following an investigation by the Denver Police Department. Initial charges alleged that on Feb. 16, 2012, the three juveniles unlawfully seized and carried the victim from one place to another and inflicted sexual intrusion for the purpose of abuse.
