Prove It on July Fourth – And Your Shot Can Win $500!
TELLURIDE – The Ah Haa School for the Arts, Nugget Building, Watch Newspapers, Telluride Inside and Out, Steaming Bean, and the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department invite you to enter your most spectacular photo taken this July Fourth, in the “Hot Shot July Fourth Photo Contest.” In addition to winning a $500 cash prize, the winner of this year’s photo contest will see his or her framed photo exhibited in the Daniel Tucker Gallery and auctioned during the Ah Haa School for the Arts 20th Annual Art Auction on July 20. “At the Ah Haa School, we love to showcase the amazing talent and creativity in our community,” says Executive Director Jodi Pounds. “We look forward to seeing your photos!”
Second place will receive $300 and third place receives $100. Photos will be displayed July 4-5 at the Steaming Bean, and judged according to artistic expression, creativity, originality and the quality of the image. There will also be ten honorable mentions, taking home $50 each. New tdo this year’s contest, the “Audience Choice Award” recipient will have their photograph made into 100 custom U.S. postage stamps, which can be used for mailings! Also, The Watch will choose some of the top photographs to publish in its July 12 edition.
Professional photographers, amateur photographers, hobby photographers and children are all welcome to compete. Only two rules for this contest:
Photos must be taken on July 4, 2012.
Photos must be taken in San Miguel County.
Participants can submit their ONE original photo to www.TellurideHotShotPhotoContest.com by 5 p.m. on July 5. All entries must include name, address, phone number, and email address of the photographer as well as the title of the photograph. Any photos received after the deadline will not be eligible for prizes. No digitally enhanced photos, please! Contestants and the public are asked to vote for their favorite photograph by Friday, July 6. There will be a donation box for the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department at the Steaming Bean on July 4-5 while contestants’ photos are streaming on a monitor in the shop. This is a great way to support the Fire Department, so please make a contribution while you enjoy coffee and the photo entries!
