MONTROSE – Two dead bodies discovered in a Montrose home appear to be the result of a murder-suicide, according to the Montrose County Sheriff's Office.
The bodies – identified as Perry Scott Adams and Jamie Lee Myrick - were discovered at 19545 Pahgre Road, south of Montrose, Wednesday, June 13, at approximately 1 p.m.
The female, shot five to six times in the upper torso, was found inside the residence by a relative of Adams. Adams, who died from a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound, was discovered in an outlying building.
The individuals were not related, but may have once been in a relationship, according to information collected in initial interviews by sheriff’s officers at the scene.
The case still is under investigation. No missing persons’ reports were filed prior to the discovery of the bodies.
It is the second murder/suicide in Montrose this year. In February, Randy Briggs shot and killed 20-year-old Charity Gilbert, the girlfriend of his estranged wife, on the front lawn of his home at 833 S. 40 Drive in Montrose, before killing himself.
