TELLURIDE – It ‘s time to register for the Telluride Foundation’s Second Annual Rundola footrace, on July 4 at 8a.m.  The Rundola is an uphill footrace open to all, from the base of the gondola in Telluride to the top of the ridge. Runners gain 1810 feet of elevation.

"The community and visitors showed tremendous support for the Rundola last year,” said Paul Major, President & CEO of the Telluride Foundation.

The Rundola is a family event. All kids are winners (not timed) and will receive shirts and ribbons.   Metals will be awarded for the top three finishers in each adult category.  The fastest overall man and fastest overall woman will win a grand prize which is to be announced.  Please visit  HYPERLINK "https://www.runreg.com/Net/3205" https://www.runreg.com/Net/3205 to register.

An awards ceremony will start at 10a.m. at Oak Restaurant next to the gondola station in Telluride.  All registered participants receive a meal during the awards ceremony.  The Rundola is hosted by the Telluride Foundation and sponsored by Lumiere Telluride.  The U.S. Forest Service, Telluride Ski & Golf, and Mountain Village are supporters of the event.

RIDGWAY – The Women’s Golf Association and the Fortuna Tierra Club have teamed up again this year to present the 4th Fortuna Tierra Scholarship Invitational Golf Tournament, to be held on Tuesday, July 10, at the Divide Ranch and Club. The cost of $75 per player includes 18 holes of golf with cart, breakfast, lunch, tee prizes for all players, tournament prizes and free overnight accommodations for out of town players.

Radon Testing Services for SMPA Customers

TRI-C0UNTY AREA – For residents who take the first step towards reducing energy usage by scheduling an energy assessment through San Miguel Power Partners, an energy efficiency program established by SMPA and managed by a Colorado-based nonprofit iCAST (International Center for Appropriate & Sustainable Technology), the Telluride Foundation is sponsoring radon testing and mitigation services to complement SMPP’s energy efficiency initiative.

The Telluride Foundation is sponsoring radon testing services for $50 (for the first 30 customers only). According to the EPA, the communities within the SMPA area are at particular risk, with indoor radon levels nearly five times the national average. High indoor radon levels can lead to lung cancer. The good news is that radon testing and mitigation is easy and inexpensive. Only SMPP customers who sign up for an energy assessment are eligible for the Radon discount (which amounts to $175 off market pricing).

The SMPP Program is designed to take a comprehensive approach to Energy Efficiency as well as comfort, health and safety.

4th Annual Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Festival Seeks Nonprofit Beneficiary

Ouray’s annual Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Festival is currently seeking applications for this year’s non-profit beneficiary. To participate with us in this event your non-profit must be willing to help market and provide volunteer support at the event.



The Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Festival features Colorado made goods and has become a main feature of Ouray’s Yule Night celebration. The event is hosted by MorningSong B&B at the Ouray Community Center every December on the second Saturday. We look for a different beneficiary each year. Last year Art Partners was selected as our non-profit beneficiary, a delightful relationship that benefited everyone involved. 

Currently, the 2012 festival is expecting at least seven wineries, four chocolatiers, two food vendors, several Colorado cheese companies, and we are always looking for more vendors. The event has grown and this year will also feature Colorado made arts and crafts.
