RIDGWAY – The Ridgway Demons boys’ varsity basketball posted at least one major victory over their Homecoming weekend, erupting against Nucla on Saturday with the 71-24 victory. They had lost to Mancos 63-49 Friday evening.
The girls varsity faced tougher battles over the weekend, falling to Mancos on Friday 18-37 and to Nucla on Saturday 56-51. Ridgway will host Telluride at home this Friday with games starting at 4 p.m.
This Friday is also Homecoming in Ouray, where the Trojans plan to celebrate big homecoming victories against Nucla. The teams will then travel to Norwood on Saturday. In last weekend’s basketball action, Ouray’s boys’ varsity played a tough match against Telluride on Friday, losing 74-56. The girls posted another win over the Miners, 41-33. The girls followed up their Friday night win with another on Saturday, besting tough fighting Ignacio 40-33. The boys’ varsity fell to Ignacio 44-71.
