Editor:

This weekend we have the rare opportunity to study basic principles of Buddhism with our favorite teacher John Bruna, formerly known as monk Jangchub Chophel of the traveling monks of Gaden Shartse monastery. You probably met him and the whole troupe last year at Compassion Festival or the year before at Ophir Town Hall or the Wilkinson Library Patio.

Here is how John/Chophel describes the course:

“This will be a five session workshop on the essence of Buddhism and how it applies in our modern world. I often call this talk Buddhism 101 in plain English. Buddhism does not need to be complicated and mysterious. The philosophy is actually quite simple, practical, and has many universal themes that can be integrated into our own spiritual lives.”

When and where? All at the Telluride Yoga Studio, cost is by donation.

Friday, May 11, Session1, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday, May 12, Morning Meditation, 7:30 a.m.; Session 2, 2 – 3:30 p.m.; Session 3, 7-9 p.m.

Sunday, May 13, Morning Meditation, 7:30 a.m.; Session 4, 2-3:30 p.m.; Session 5, 7-9 p.m.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
