I am writing this letter to ask the community to support the fundraising efforts to complete the soccer field at the Ridgway Secondary School.

I am a senior at the high school and have played soccer for Ridgway since I was in kindergarten. Every season has been amazing for me and I have learned so much from the game and about the game. The only real disappointment was never having a home field at my school.

With recent budget cuts at the school, there is not any money to put into the field. But there is now a group called KXS (Kids Excelling in Soccer) that is made up of parents of former and current soccer players, the RHS Booster Club, RHS administration, and the Ouray County Soccer Association. This group’s first fundraising effort will be a Soccer Ball (dance) at the Sherbino on May 12. (Flyers and ads about this event will be out soon.) I hope that you will support their efforts as a community and join us this evening. If you can’t make it but would like to make a donation you can send a check to Michelle Kyne at P.O. Box 578, Ridgway. Please make the check out to Ridgway School. You will be sent a tax donation letter.

Even though I am graduating in May, it would mean a lot to me and the senior class to get the field up and running so future generations can have a soccer field at the secondary school.
