“Brad has been very involved with the Assessors Association, serving as Chairman for Montrose County’s District and Chairman for the Associations Resolution Committee, as well as being involved in last year’s agricultural task force which resulted in changes in Ag land valuation,” said Mark Vanderpool, Montezuma County Assessor and Head of the Assessor of the Year Committee. “The vote for Brad was almost unanimous. He’s a bright young man and deserves this recognition.”
Hughes said of the vote, “I was surprised and honored to receive this recognition from my peers; definitely a highlight in my professional career. Although this was an individual award, I give credit to my excellent staff. Without their hard work and dedication I could not operate such a proficient office.”
Hughes was elected as Montrose County Assessor in 2006, and has worked hard to continually advance his office. One notable accomplishment is the development of online research technology now available to more easily search property records in Montrose County.
