OURAY COUNTY – The Ouray County Agricultural Committee is hosting a guided tour of county farms and ranches on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour is a joint venture of the Ag Committee, the Ouray County Ranch History Museum, and the Black Canyon Land Trust. Tour participants will be taken by van to see what’s being done at different agricultural sites in the county.

“It’s the Ag Committee’s mission to encourage and diversify agriculture, one of Ouray County’s traditional industries,” said committee member Jane Bennett. “We think small diversified operations like those on the tour have a lot of potential for our area, and we’d like to show them off.”

Space on the tour is limited. Tickets are available in advance for $10 per person, which includes a picnic lunch of locally produced foods. For more information, contact Bennett at 970/626-5075.
