Former Montrose Teacher Arrested on Child Sex Assault Charges

MONTROSE — A Montrose teacher was arrested last week and faces charges of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Darci Largent, 40, was arrested last Friday and booked into the Montrose County jail on a bond of $60,000. She has since bonded out.

Details about the case are scant, and court records have been sealed by court order, according to Ed Thomson of the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office.

The Montrose County School District listed Largent’s name under the heading of “cessation of limited term contracts” in its April 11 minutes.

According to a Montrose High alumni page, Largent was a 1989 graduate of Montrose High School.

Largent was arrested around 1 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the 1000 block of Oxford Street.
