And so the professional schoolteacher/administrator (with 14 years of experience) and skateboarder (with lifelong experience) and his carefully selected staff of trained instructors – “hand-selected,” as he puts it, “to be of the highest character and ability,” who together make up SK81435, announce Telluride Skate Camp Summer Session 2011.
The licensed and insured Telluride skateboard camp teaches local and visiting youth the art of skateboarding, throughout the Tri-County region, but mostly in Telluride's world-class Town Park facility.
SK81435 takes as its mission to introduce and instruct stoked young athletes to become confident skateboarders, in a safe and positive environment.
Campers ages 6 to 16 receive beginner, intermediate, and advanced instruction while learning foundational skateboarding skills, skatepark etiquette and traffic protocol, and basic skateboard maintenance.
Summer Session begins on Monday, June 27, and runs for 10 weeks, through Friday, Sept. 2.
Campers meet at the town park facility at 9 a.m. each morning and skate until 12 p.m. Participants may sign up by the day, week or for the season.
New this year are Southwest Colorado SK8 Tours, taking place Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Participants meet in Telluride Town Park to travel to the impressive Ridgway and Montrose skateboard facilities, before returning to Telluride tired and happy.
