Wright grew up in the Northeast; he attended Dave Farny's Telluride Mountaineering School in 1972, and moved to Telluride permanently in 1978.
He is survived by his daughter, Celine; his wife, Michelle and his brother, Eric, all of Telluride, and by his parents, Bob and Jane Wright, of Princeville, HI.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 6, at 4:30 p.m., in Telluride Town Park, under the tent. In lieu of flowers, donations will be taken at the memorial for a spruce tree to be planted in his name along the River Trail.
