ON THE ROAD: A citizen complained of improper passing by a vehicle on Dec. 31. MONTROSE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

CHILD ABUSE: A deputy investigated a report of child abuse on Dec. 19 at a residence on Falcon Road. The case was turned over to social services and no other information was given.

PROTECTION ORDER: A deputy took a protection order violation report on Dec. 19 at the sheriff’s office. It was determined to be a case with the city and was turned over to the Montrose Police Department. …A 27-year-old woman was arrested in Naturita on Dec. 19 for two outstanding warrants and disorderly conduct and was charged with violation of a previous protection order. …A 46-year-old man was arrested in Naturita on Dec. 19 for two outstanding warrants.

ON THE ROAD: A 19-year-old man was cited on Dec. 19 for no proof of insurance, driving under suspension and a registration violation. He was then arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the Montrose County Jail. …A 37-year-old woman was cited on Highway 97 for driving a vehicle while under restraint, driving while under suspension and failing to present proof of insurance.

BAD TEXT: A deputy took a report of suspicious text messages at a residence on Dec. 20. No other information on the texting incident was available.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A juvenile was arrested on Dec. 21 for assault and criminal mischief after officers investigated a disturbance on Normandy Road.

TOWED: A deputy investigated a vehicle theft on Marine Road on Dec. 23. It was later determined that the vehicle had been towed.

FRAUD: A citizen reported a fraud to the sheriff’s office on Dec. 23. A deputy advised the woman to contact law enforcement in the town where the situation was occurring.

ASSAULT: After responding to a disturbance on R71 Road on Dec. 23, a deputy arrested a 19-year-old woman for third-degree assault and false imprisonment.

MONTROSE POLICE DEPARTMENT

WARRANT: A 31-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 19 for an outstanding warrant in Ouray County.

SHOPLIFTING: A 58-year-old woman was cited on Dec. 19 for shoplifting at a retail establishment on Townsend Avenue. …A 40-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and an 11-year-old juvenile were issued citations for shoplifting at a retail establishment on Dec. 20.

DRUGS: A 16-year-old juvenile was issued a citation on Dec. 19 for possession of marijuana.

RUNAWAY: The mother of a 14-year-old girl reported on Dec. 19 that her daughter had run away. The juvenile returned home on Dec. 23.

INTOXICATION: A 35-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 19 for a protection order violation and being an intoxicated pedestrian. …A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old juvenile were issued citations on Dec. 10 for underage consumption of alcohol.

ON THE ROAD: A 51-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 20 for DUI and driving with an open alcohol container.

UNDERAGE BUST: Two 20-year-old men, two 17-year-old juveniles and two 14-year-old juveniles were arrested for trespassing, underage consumption of alcohol and first-degree burglary on Dec. 20.

STOLEN: A theft was reported on Townsend Ave. on Dec. 24. …A burglary was reported on Main St. on Dec. 28. Investigation is ongoing. …Theft was reported on Townsend Ave. on Dec. 26 and Dec. 27. …Theft was reported on Ridge St. on Dec. 27.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: A domestic dispute was reported on Colonial Ct. on Dec. 24.

HARASSMENT: Incidents of harassment were reported on Milo Circle on Dec. 25 and on S. Rio Grande Ave. on Dec. 26.

GRAFFITI: An incident of graffiti was reported on Ridge St. on Dec. 25.

DRUGS: A 26-year-old female was given a citation for possession of marijuana at Encanto Pl. on Dec. 27. …The unlawful distribution of a controlled substance at the 1600 block of Encanto Pl. was reported on Dec. 27. Investigation is ongoing.
