MONTROSE – The Region 10 League for Economic Assistance and Planning has hired Vince Fandel as its new Business Loan Fund Director.

Fandel, who previously worked with First Colorado National Bank of Paonia and the Bank at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, has been in banking for the past 20 years.

“We are so pleased to have Vince join us,” Region 10 Executive Director Paul Gray said. “He has extensive experience in banking, and a dedication to the kinds of loans that Region 10 offers to businesses in our area.”

Fandel, originally from Wheaton, Ill., said that he hitchhiked to Colorado with a buddy as a young man, and knew immediately that he wanted to remain.

“I decided, this is probably where I’ll die,” he said. “By now, I have lived in Colorado most of my life.”

After spending a number of years in Colorado Springs, Fandel relocated to Western Colorado.

“I am really looking forward to working with Region 10,” he said. “This is a whole different environment; we can still help people get loans, without the constraints of the banking environment. We have more flexibility here, and I believe we will really be able to help some people.”

Region 10 League for Economic Assistance and Planning is a six-county (Montrose, Delta, Gunnison, Ouray, Hinsdale and San Miguel) non-profit organization that, in addition to the Enterprise center, operates the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), coordinates regional transportation planning, and operates a small business loan program.
