A Telluride Night (In New York!)
TELLURIDE – Motown royalty convenes in Harlem, at the Historic Apollo Theater, on Tuesday, Feb. 15, when Smokey Robinson is joined by (Nickolas) Ashford and (Valerie) Simpson and Chuck Jackson for a night of memorable music at the legendary Apollo Theater. It’s the first-ever combo fundraiser for the nonprofit Sheridan Arts Foundation and the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. The SAF, founded in 1991, takes as its mission to preserve the historic Sheridan Opera House, bring quality arts and cultural events to Telluride and provide local and national youth with access and exposure to the arts through education. The heroic Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, founded in 1985, is a nonprofit organization devoted to funding The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, formed in 1985 after NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Nick Buoniconti’s son, Marc, sustained a serious spinal cord injury in a college football game. Today, the Miami Project, housed in the Lois Pope Life Center at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, is the world’s most comprehensive spinal cord injury research center.
