The position was held by Jim Rumble, vice president and founder of the Black Canyon Jet Center, who is retiring.
Rumble, an Honorably Discharged Air Force Veteran, has owned and operated numerous Flight School and FBO operations throughout Colorado and New Mexico, winning the Exxon Gold Award for an unprecedented four years in a row for outstanding FBO service and performance for the Santa Fe Jet Center.
Black Canyon Jet Center’s leadership team brought Honemann, who holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Colorado and 12 years of management experience as an officer and aviator in the U.S. Navy, a year ago. In addition to his military aviation experience, Honemann held the positions of aircraft maintenance manager, operations center director of an aircraft carrier, squadron training manager, and safety manager; a member of Montrose Rotary, he serves on the Montrose Community Foundation board of directors and is active as a youth soccer coach.
Black Canyon Jet Center’s leadership team includes Director of Operations Ken Watson, who has a degree in business administrations, with financial emphasis.
The FBO business is rapidly changing and the use of information will play a key role in its future success. Honemann pronounces himself confident that the future success of Black Canyon Jet Center will be squarely based on safety, customer service and its ability to respond to challenges and changes in the jet-aviation business.
Black Canyon Jet Center provides FBO services at the Montrose Regional Airport including aircraft refueling utilizing Phillips 66 fuel products; ground support services, towing and de-icing; 35,000 square feet of heated transient hangar space; ground transportation; rental cars and limos; catering and concierge services.
