June 23, 2011 Tomboy Road open to Tomboy Ghost Town

This morning, Telluride Outside 4-WD guide Richard Thorpe reported

that Tomboy Road is now open to the ghost town!  With respect to 4-WD

tours, this is the announcement we've all been waiting for.  Our most

popular half day tour is now available: Tomboy Ghost Town and Bridal

Veil Falls.  The trip to Tomboy and back takes about 2 1/2 hours,

leaving just enough time to sneak up to Bridal Veil for a close view of

the largest waterfall in Colorado.  This is a world-class tour, both in

terms of scenery and mining history.  Since no one is crossing the pass

from Ouray, we enjoy the benefit of low driving traffic between

Telluride and Tomboy.  4-hour half day trips are available from 8:00 -

noon and 1:30-5:30 daily.  The cost is $85/adult and $70 per child 12 or

younger.
