Airline Service for Winter 2009-2010 Expands

TELLURIDE, MONTROSE – The Telluride/Montrose Regional Air Organization announces enhanced air service for the upcoming 2009-10 winter season, with air bookings now pacing 12 percent up over this time, last year. This winter’s total number of airline seats in and out of Telluride/Montrose maintains pace with last year’s record number, to nine nonstop destinations including Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, and Los Angeles. New this winter: A second United Saturday flight from Chicago during peak winter travel periods and two-class service (first and coach) from Los Angeles on Saturdays. United also adds Sunday service out of L.A. this season for Telluride travelers. “The enhancement of our exceptional air service will truly benefit our guests, as many connecting domestic and international visitors will have easier access into the Telluride and Montrose Airports,” says TMRAO’s Scott Stewart. “While many leisure destinations are seeing a sizeable decrease in available seats year over year,” he says, TMRAO is “expanding markets and maintaining service levels.” The six carriers providing services this year include American Airlines, Continental, Delta, Great Lakes, United and USAirways. International travelers will find same day connections when flying from European cities such as London, Dublin, Paris or Frankfurt; South American beauties such as Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires and Santiago; and many of Mexico's cities. Australian and Canadian travelers also benefit from easier connections through LA, New York, and Denver and well as hundreds of cities across the United States. Overall booking trends show fuller planes, booked sooner than in previous years. Travel recommendations include: Buy early; travel mid-week; travel off-peak and avoid holidays. Dates between Jan. 5-Feb. 11 are a great time to fly in!).
